El avance de la candidatura de Henrique Capriles ha acentuado los rasgos autoritarios del actual gobierno, así como sus acciones para estrechar los márgenes de acción política de la sociedad venezolana.
Una reciente interpretación de las regulaciones de campaña, por parte del Consejo Nacional Electoral (CNE), intenta silenciar los mensajes de contenido político en los medios, aunque no sean específicamente de carácter electoral. Por ejemplo, una ONG que defienda los derechos humanos o el derecho de propiedad, no podría contratar publicidad alusiva a la situación del área de su interés. Esto se descontaría de los 3 minutos pagados, por canal de televisión o emisora radial, a los que la campaña de Capriles tiene derecho en TV.
Entretanto, el gobierno no sólo tiene 10 minutos diarios de publicidad gratuita y obligatoria en cada canal o emisora, en el horario que escoja, sino que también tiene el poder de obligar a radios y televisoras a transmitir sus cadenas, cuyo mensaje es fundamentalmente político-electoral, incluidas agresiones directas al candidato de la Unidad Henrique Capriles.
Las elecciones en Venezuela son libres, pero no justas. Frente a esa realidad, es extraordinario el empuje que desarrolla día a día la candidatura de la Unidad.
CAPRILES CALIFICA DE “IRRESPONSABLE” SALIDA DE VENEZUELA DE LA CIDH
“Considero que es una irresponsabilidad”, expresó el candidato opositor durante un foro en Facebook, el primero que realiza un aspirante presidencial en América Latina, según informaron sus organizadores. Capriles Radonski expresó no estar de acuerdo por la salida del mecanismo de derechos humanos, anunciada por el presidente Hugo Chávez, al señalarla de ser una decisión “unilateral” y que parte de “una bravuconada”. Esto realmente afecta al venezolano que se queda sin justicia”, expresó el candidato por la MUD.
Capriles Radonski expresó no estar de acuerdo por la salida del mecanismo de derechos humanos, anunciada por el presidente Hugo Chávez, al señalarla de ser una decisión “unilateral” y que parte de “una bravuconada”.

EL CANDIDATO DE LA UNIDAD Y EL INGRESO DE VENEZUELA MERCOSUR
“Coincido con la afirmación de la Presidente Rousseff, asociarse a Mercosur o a cualquier otro sistema de integración y/o Acuerdos Internacionales son los países que ingresan y no los gobernantes. Ella bien lo entiende por pertenecer a un país que ve las relaciones internacionales como relaciones entre Estados y no entre los individuos que gobiernan. Brasil ha desarrollado a lo largo de muchos años una política exterior de Estado. Lamentablemente, en nuestro país la actuación en los últimos años ha sido basada en una política exterior ideologizada que exalta los intereses del gobernante de turno, de su partido y no los de la sociedad en su conjunto”.
DIPLOMACIA CONSTRUCTIVA E INDEPENDIENTE
Según Henrique Capriles Radonski, “nuestra diplomacia será constructiva, independiente, de mucho respeto hacia el resto de las naciones, integracionista y en donde siempre evitaremos la confrontación y el uso de nuestro petróleo como herramienta política para imponer nuestras visiones”.

Government continues to tilt uneven playing filed in its favor
The progress of the candidacy of Henrique Capriles has accentuated the authoritarian features of the Venezuelan current government, as well as its doings to diminish the political actions of the Venezuelan society.

THE CANDIDATE OF THE DEMOCRATIC UNITY AND THE ENTRANCE OF VENEZUELA IN THE MERCOSUR (SOUTHERN COMMON MARKET)
I agree with the statement of President Rousseff: to associate to Mercosur, to any other system or international agreement is a matter of States, not of the governments. She well understands it for she belongs to a country that sees the international relations as relations between States and not between the individuals that govern them. Brazil has developed through many years a foreign policy of State. Unfortunately, in our country, the performance of the last years has been based in an ideological foreign policy that exalts the interests of the ruler of the day, of its party and not those of the society.
